Occupational Therapists support their clients to access their chosen leisure and play activities which are meaningful to them. This creates a sense of purpose, provides structure to the week, develops skills and supports the rehabilitation process.
A core skill of Occupational Therapy is activity analysis, which underpins our approach to exploring leisure and play activities with our clients.
We use a structured approach to identify potential activities, try these out, adapt and evaluate them. We work through this process at the client’s pace and support carers to enable the client to be able to access their chosen activities. We will also provide advice on any specialist equipment that may support leisure and play access.
